Futaba "Nidaime" Rentaro inherits a detective agency from his late father, a legendary figure amongst the colorful inhabitants of the Nikotamagawa shopping district. With no family and no ambitions, Rentaro is reluctant to take up the legacy of a second generation detective, until identical twins Souju and Sara show up on his doorstep with a job request that changes his life forever. Two years later at the age of 21, Rentaro's carefree day by day life with the twins is disrupted by events that forces him to redefine himself once again. Join the fun as Sara manages to blow up Rentaro's detective office, which doubles as his home, whilst trying to shake off the Chinese mafia and Rentaro himself is held hostage by the friendly neighborhood Yakuza crime syndicate for an incident involving his cat and the boss' bird.

[NOTE:] Futakoi and Futakoi Alternative are based on the same project held by Dengeki G’s Magazine. They use the same characters, but are completely different stories.
